Fear - A Poem

Fear
- Annabelle Huber

Fear

A word, a feeling, a friend

This can not be the end to us

An action that causes such destruction, it takes over us

You can see It in the people
Even at the steeple
We lift up our hands to pray yet still we say we are scared
The part I do not understand is that we try to make it known to man that we are fear, we should be feared, but we fear.
The word isn’t just one, but many.
The shapes and forms come in plenty
Why do we spread this, It’s not alright
We see with our eyes but we have no sight
Where’s the light?
Where is the beautiful sight of happiness and cheer, a world without fear, where has it all gone.
Like sister to sister we argue but whisper the lies and the fear that we should be the right ones here,
We play with the meaning as if it is a toy
We take joy from the fear of others
I will not stand by any longer
Why are we making this word get stronger
For He my father has commanded one another
To love, have faith, speak truth where there’s is hate
And be grateful.
For he did not give us the power of fear
But if we do he is always near
So do not fear for he is always with you
His rod and his staff should always comfort you
With the power of Love, hate will be overthrown
For he is waiting for us up above on his throne
As we lift up our voices for all to hear
We shout out to fear that it is not welcome here.
