Video Call Games

Over the course of quarantine, we discovered that when you’re on a voice call, it can sometimes be hard to play games, or even to know what games you can play. Because of that, we decided to make a list of 10 games that you can do over a voice call.  Battleship: This is a classic game that most people should have in their house. To play this on a voice call, all you need is for both people to have the game with them. Then, each person sets up the board, and you can play. If you don’t have the game, you can print out a grid for it online, or if you can’t find that, all you need is some graph paper and a straight edge.  Pictionary: This game does require that you be doing a video call instead of a voice call, but has the advantage of being playable with a group. In order to play this game, all you need is for everyone to have pencil and paper. If some people don’t have access to pencil and paper, then one person can draw for both teams.  Two Truths and a Lie: This is an incredibly simple

Lily's Testimony: Finding Joy in Grief

Hello everyone! So, with the COVID-19 pandemic calming down for now, some of us bloggers decided to share a little bit about our lives and how they were affected during these crazy and unexpected times. But, more importantly, we wanted to share about how God has changed us during this time, because this is HIS plan, not ours. He is in control! Therefore, without further ado, I will share about my life, and hope that you can see God behind it all. I am not the center of this story. God is!  This is me with a sweet little one that we welcomed into our home at the end of February 2020. His name is K (well, not really, but for privacy reasons his real name will not be included). K was our second foster care placement. He was 8 months old when he came into our home because of physical abuse. Sadly, we were not even the first home he was removed to; he had lived with two other temporary placements before he came to live with us.  In case you aren’t familiar with foster care, our family w

A Modern Day Psalm

A Modern Day Psalm Parched and sore, I seek for you, Lord. Bloodiest and weary, I fight for my faith. Weakly I call, For your saving grace. Tiredly I cry, Feeling humbled and out of place. Sorrows, They weigh upon me With cruel heartfelt heaviness. Agony, She drains me of all Hope and energy. Parched and weary, Footsore and tired, I wonder, where are you, my God? Why don't you do anything? Why can't you save me? Why aren't you stepping in And showing me your undying love? Discouragement courses through me, Dragging my feet to a halt. The armour of my Lord Seems useless and heavy to wear. Then I hear it, Your voice in a whisper. Then I feel it, A touch like a breath of air. You have always been near. You have heard my pleas. You're filling my cup With overflowing grace. You replenish my soul, And bring rest to my weary feet. You tell me to rest, And I do, safe in your embrace. I know where you are. I can see that you care. I'm
