Heroes

Heroes
By Isabella Cole

Myth and legend, those tales of old
With heroes strong and kind, loving, and bold;
We silent read, wishing us with them:
Our heroes, those strong, kind, bold ones.

We aren't in myth, life doesn't rhyme,
But we're writing a tale here in time.
We can be heroes: loving, kind, bold;
But often, we're villains: unfeeling, cold.

The choice is yours; the pen's in your hand
How will you act? For good or evil stand?
Let us be heroes: kind, so strong,
Rather than evil's unfeeling, and cold.

  1. Thank you for reminding us that times like these are opportunities to be heroes. I especially like the part where you say, "life doesn't rhyme, but we're writing a tale here in time." So poetic! So inspiring! So true!
    Keep up the good work! :)
